The Leonardo Hotel is the base for our counselling and hypnotherapy courses in Southampton. Our courses are accredited by professional bodies the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society for counselling and the National Hypnotherapy Society for hypnotherapy courses, where you can become an Accredited Member (MNCPS (Acc.)). We are proud to be an approved centre for Prince’s Trust Qualifications, which validates our qualifications and lists our courses on the RQF (Ofqual Regulated Qualifications Framework).

The different courses we have on offer depend on your skill level and experience. These include:

Level 3 Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Introduction to Counselling Skills is a one-year course for beginners new to the industry. Chrysalis’ unique course blends hypnotherapy with counselling skills. This means graduates can start professional practice with a good level of hypnotherapy knowledge and experience, along with having vital, rapport-building and client-supporting skills learned from counselling approaches. This course covers topics such as hypnotherapy for anxiety and hypnotherapy and counselling skills.

Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory is a two-year course which incorporates level 3 as the first year of the syllabus. Applicants with an appropriate Level 3 Counselling Skills qualification can join directly onto year 2 of this course. This course includes components such as foundations of counselling, psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive approaches.

Finally, our most popular course; Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. This three-year course incorporates levels 3 and 4 as the first two years of the syllabus. Choose this level 5 professional diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling course if you wish to become a professional counsellor. Through qualification, you will gain a route onto an Accredited Register approved by the Professional Standards Authority. This course includes components such as understanding depression and human relationships, abuse and addiction and personal and professional development.

We recommend Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling as it fully meets current professional requirements and is also the most cost-efficient way to enter our profession.
